The Fine Balance of Nutrition in Athletes!

Athletes need more antioxidants to protect against the byproducts of exercise and they need more natural Cox-2 inhibitors to protect against inflammation. The following recommendations - in the form of a balanced and varied diet - ensure an adequate supply of energy, nutrition, and protective elements, and therefore represent a healthy approach to eating.

The carbohydrates can supply extra energy, which is especially important in the latter stages of exercise, while protein helps to protect against muscle loss. Increased oxygen utilization during exercise can increase the production of free radicals (unstable molecules that can cause tissue damage at the cellular level), but increased food intake and supplementation with antioxidants may enhance immune-system performance. One of the nutrients most commonly associated with preventing colds is vitamin C, which has a widespread reputation as an immune system booster. Some liquid supplements contain glucosamine and chondroitin for joint repair and recovery, (soy) protein to build and maintain muscles, and antioxidants to fight free radicals. Sodium and potassium provide electrolyte replacement for post-workout recovery. The basic fuels supplying muscles are: glucose transported from the liver in the bloodstream, glycogens stored locally in muscles and free fatty acids. After all these do come from our diet.

Even with all the protective equipment worn during practices and games, football players are quite vulnerable. Consistent intake of calories, allowing for adaptations due to weather conditions, provide consistent fueling of the body, prolonging endurance, and protecting the muscle tissue from being cannibalized. If you want to be strong in the latter stages of a race, you must have consumed sufficient calories in the earlier stages of the race. As a general rule, 20 to 30 percent of the calories in a young athlete’s diet should come from fat, 50 to 65 percent from carbohydrates and 15 to 20 percent from protein. Endurance training, such as long-distance running also requires more calories from both carbs and protein, while strength training increases the body’s need for protein.

Sports nutritionists recommend that about 55 to 65 percent of calories come from carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates such as starches should make up the majority of carbohydrate fuel. Weight bearing sports, those than involve running or jumping, are at greatest risk. Meeting calorie needs can be difficult for some athletes, especially in those sports where severe weight-loss practice and restricted intakes are common. When energy intake is limited, the body uses fat and lean tissues for energy, thus resulting in loss of strength and performance. When an athlete performs his/her sporting activity, lot of fluid loss takes place, which causes dehydration and dehydration can eventually cause heat stroke.

Some strategies, such as high-protein diets or protein supplements, can cause serious problems, like kidney damage. Skipping meals, eliminating certain food groups, or going on fasts (not eating at all or eating very little) can also be harmful to kids. You should consult with a healthcare professional before starting any diet, exercise or supplementation program, before taking any medication, or if you have or suspect you might have a health problem. Information about each product is available from the labels of the products or from the manufacturer’s advertising material.

When blood glucose levels start to fall, glycogen is changed to glucose, raising blood glucose levels. Well trained athletes who eat a high-carbohydrate diet can improve glycogen stores. Typically, high glycemic index carbohydrates are preferred for their ability to raise insulin levels, thus increasing rate of nutrient storage. Recently, high molecular weight carbohydrates have come to prominence for their low osmolality, and potential for quicker, and greater glycogen restoration.

Master athletes will find the articles on nutritional needs and joint inflammation invaluable. High school and college coaches will love the update article on the female triad. Reviews and commentaries should be written in a style that sport nutrition practitioners, coaches, and athletes can easily comprehend. What is the best sports nutrition for an athlete? There is no definitive answer to this.

In fact, most athletes habitually consume more than their protein requirements. Ensuring they have access to snacks containing protein (6-12 g of essential amino acids or 10-20 g of high-biological-value protein and carbohydrate (1 g per kilogram body mass) one hour before resistance training sessions may improve muscle tissue development. Creatine has been blamed for all sorts of effects, from muscle cramps to dehydration, to increased injuries in athletes. However, these effects have been looked at extensively by researchers without a single study reporting side effects among several groups taking creatine for various medical reasons over five years. To be beneficial for strength training be sure that an athlete is consuming the proper amount of protein and carbohydrates on a daily basis. Liquid vitamins are a very efficient way to bring your body up to it’s optimum performance.

Today, more than ever, we need to take high quality nutrition vitamins. Chuck Arnone tries to research some of the options and make them available to you.

Weight Loss and Nutrition Go Together!

Nutrition and weight loss are certainly important subjects and ones that you would love to learn all that you can and then jump in and start on your diet so that you can lose the weight you desire. However, I sincerely believe that dieting is not the best approach to losing weight.Knowing everything about proper nutrition is going to help you do what is necessary to lose weight. Nutrition and weight loss are plausible solutions to losing those unwanted pounds. Meditation, visualization and prayer also help. We are in the 21st century and have the luxury of liquid vitamins to keep us healthy. Proper nutrition also helps keep the process of your body functioning normally and the best part is that liquid vitamins can taste good!

Whereas a nutritious diet can rectify underlying causes of diseases and restore one to wholeness of mind and body. Once we realize the connection between a wholesome diet and good health, our food will be our medicine and maintaining good health will be a matter of making the right food choices and leading a healthy lifestyle. Try cutting 500 calories from your diet and burning 500 calories with vigorous exercise every day. The average woman will lose weight on a 1,500-calorie-per-day diet, while men can lose weight on about 1,800 calories per day. Permanent healthy weight loss requires permanent lifestyle changes

Dieters who also exercise are more likely to succeed for obvious reasons. They burn a lot more calories than sedentary dieters who attempt to lose weight without initiating a work-out program. Diets that provide less than 800 calories per day also could result in heart rhythm abnormalities, which can be fatal. Diet plans are commonly found in magazines as well as the more common weight loss centers which some supply you with foods to eat and others inform you and assist you in making wise food choices. Whatever weight loss program is chosen the consumer will be required to move more and eat less which can be a common misconception in overweight people wanting to lose weight.

The reason these foods are thought to be fattening is that people tend to eat large portions and add toppings such as sour cream, butter and mayonnaise, which are very high in fat. Dieters can eat smaller portions of starches flavored with herbs, spices and other low-fat toppings and still lose weight. The old cholesterol-laden version used whole eggs, full-fat whipping cream and half-and-half, and about 276 calories, 15 grams of fat, 9 grams of saturated fat and 184 milligrams of cholesterol in just one serving. Modified, this tangy dessert has only one-tenth of the fat and 100 calories fewer than the original. Because there are so many, it can become confusing when trying to select the best wrinkle cream possible. One important factor is read the labels.

Five ounces of wine or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof distilled spirits provide 100 calories. But alcohol provides few, if any, nutrients, so if you drink alcoholic beverages and want to reduce your weight, consider reducing or eliminating your alcohol intake. Vegetarian diets can provide the recommended daily amount of all the key nutrients if you choose foods carefully. Plants, especially fruits and vegetables, are the main source of nutrients in vegetarian diets. If you have questions not answered here, or if you want to lose weight, talk to your health care provider. A registered dietitian or other qualified health professional can give you advice on how to follow a healthy eating plan, lose weight safely and keep it off.

Eating reasonable amounts of natural fats coming from foods like avocados, nuts, and seeds may help you lose more weight by getting you fuller faster and providing the healthy fats your body needs. Joslin Diabetes Center and the Joslin Clinic recommend a diet that provides 40% of total calories from carbohydrate, 30-35% from fat and 20-30% from protein for overweight/obese patients who are at risk for diabetes or who have diabetes. Weight loss for people in these groups is very important for their health yet it can be very difficult for people with diabetes to lose weight. A basic nutritional knowledge tells us that proteins repair and rebuild cells, carbohydrates energize cells and fats provide hormonal foundation for cells. Though the macro-nutrition must remain balanced to maintain optimum health, the calories must cycle to keep the metabolism from slowing down.

All the above are examples of what can affect the way you lose and/or gain weight. No matter what we do in life, the key to your health is nutrition. Please think about the foods you eat and if you can digest them. Whether it is through food and/or supplements, you need to make a decision and follow it through to the end! There are many diet aids on the market, just do your homework before committing to anything. Your health is your life! Go natural with any product whenever it is possible and make it a rule when purchasing food or supplements.

Liquid Vitamins……Are They Really Necessary?

High quality liquid vitamins and nutritional supplementation is essential to make up the deficit of nutrients in our food. The transition from pill form to liquid vitamins and minerals is taking place and the wave of the future for the health industry and nutritional supplements is liquid vitamins.  These vitamins are digested as they pass through the intestinal tracts, and the step of breaking down the pills is eliminated.  Liquid Vitamins are much better absorbed than pill vitamins while pills are more taxing on your digestive system and much harder to swallow! They also help you achieve better health much faster than pill form. A recent study showed that while 98% of liquid vitamins are absorbed by your body, only 10-20% of pill vitamins are absorbed. Are you starting to see the importance of liquid vitamins and minerals?

When choosing your nutritional supplement, liquid vitamins are definitely the way to go for maximum absorption.  Why should you use a liquid supplement?  Instead of pills, which sometimes don’t digest, the liquid is absorbed into the system fully.  The main reason why liquid vitamins are more effective than pills and tablets is due to the nature of their liquid base.  Medical studies have shown that pills and capsules only have a 25%-40% absorption rate at the cellular level, while liquid nutritional products exceed a 90% absorption rate.

This is true especially in the case of the elderly and children, for whom liquid vitamins are available in a variety of flavors. These liquid dietary supplements are high potency formulas you can count on. Feed your 300 million new cells the nutrition they need to thrive with a complete, good tasting and most powerful liquid vitamin available. There is one disadvantage of liquid vitamins and that is the nutrients get destroyed when they come in contact with the stomach acids before they can reach the upper intestines where the best absorption  happens. Multiples (in liquid form) give your body more daily vitamins and minerals through whole food vegetation (than pills).

Today’s health and nutrition is not what it used to be and is headed no where fast.  Your body needs the complete nutrition found in Pro Vitamin Complete.  Most people, healthy or not, STILL don’t get the proper nutrition they need to stay healthy. Health is a major concern in the United States, from vitamins and minerals, to the proper nutrition and intake, it is hard to get the proper amount of nutrition you need everyday from just the regular foods you eat.  Like all of us, we take vitamins with the intention of getting good nutrition, but when they are pushed out of our system virtually undigested then that creates a problem.  And with the fast paced world we live in today, it’s hard to get the right vitamins, minerals, and nutrition into our body everyday.  Our cells are starved for proper nutrition, vitamins, and minerals.

Supplementation of liquid vitamin nutrition is the secret to protecting you and your family against disease, staying healthy and looking and feeling youthful.  Whether it is helping people to quit smoking (the #1 preventable cause for sickness and death in the civilized world) — Help with solutions for weight loss and obesity (the #2 preventable health threat) — Cleaning up our endangered and irreplaceable fresh water supplies with our extraordinary laundry detergent alternative — Or simply getting the proper comprehensive nutrition to stay healthy with potent liquid vitamins. In reality, most of us fall short of these health goals resulting in an unhealthy diet often critically lacking in even the basic nutrients required to sustain proper health.

The key is to eat well and to supplement your diet with healthy amounts of a variety of important nutrients.  These nutrients also assist the body in expanding oxygen production, assisting clear flow through vessels, promoting healthy cholesterol and homocysteine levels, as well as enhancing mental clarity and recall.  Along with an increase in productivity, feeling better, seeing your family enjoy the best possible health, and fighting off the potential onset of serious diseases, vitamins are necessary in today’s world! This type of nutrition is the support everyone needs for their immune system to stay healthy!  This gives everyone a good idea of what their goal should be, especially when it comes to the health of you and your loved ones.

In today’s world we have the technology that can keep us healthy. Chuck Arnone believes that liquid vitamins are the answer.
